On Sunday, August 24, 2003, at 6 o'clock, Laura Mahan and Brad Welch were married in the large outdoor rotunda of the Fess Parker's DoubleTree. Immediately after the wedding, the guests were invited to cocktails up on the top of the huge rotunda. Meanwhile the Wedding Party endured even more photographs. Eventually they made their way upstairs.
While this was happening, the lower floor was re-arranged into a sit down dinner.

I, too, lean on the wall, and enjoy watching the people.
After the toasts and the sit down dinner, darkness fell, rendering the wimpy little digital camera virtually useless. The guests gradually drifted away, and the wedding party and their friends enjoyed dancing to a great electronic DJ. No one could doubt the success and the enjoyment of this lovely wedding.
On wednesday we had a final rendezvous with the Mahans (and the Welch's) at Chester's Asian Restaurant, a favorite.
Brad and Laura arrive, looking very happy. They are working this week. Their honeymoon starts next week, when they are off to, as Brad says, "Tahiti or something." We all order, and then eat, far too much.
